Molten Rose Gold Slime

This one is great not only for making with your little ones, but for older kids, teens, or even adults too with it’s gorgeous rosey metallic finish! It has a more solid texture because of all the glitter and shimmer which makes it a lot less messy to play with, but just as satisfying to knead, stretch and poke.

To get started you’ll need:

  • Light gold or champagne shimmer eye shadow, loose pigment, or pearl pigment. On all these recipes on here using shimmer, I use a cheap make up I find at dollar stores (no need to buy the more expensive stuff at craft stores)
  • Pink or light pink glitter
  • Chunky irregular shaped gold glitter (regular gold glitter is fine too if you can’t find any)
  • Orange or peach food coloring
  • Clear school glue
  • Liquid starch
  • Water
  • Large bowl for mixing
  1. Mix 1/2 of a cup of glue and 1/4 cup of water in a bowl and thoroughly mix until you’re unable to see anymore clear streaking in the mixture and the glue is totally dissolved into the water
  2. Scrape or pour the shimmer make up into the mix, add the pink glitter, and  thoroughly mix. The mixture should be chunky and saturated with glitter and the mix should look metallic. Keep adding glitter and shimmer until it gets there.
  3. Add a very small drop of the orange food dye, you don’t want to overwhelm the mix with orange, just enough to make it nice and warm-toned
  4. Add 1/2 cup of liquid starch and immediately begin mixing in rapid circles until it clumps together in the middle of the bowl, wrapped around itself
  5. Remove and squish back and forth in hands until it starts to form a more cohesive glob in your hands and begin to knead and stretch it until the excess moisture is gone, then allow it to sit for a few moments
  6. While you’re first batch is resting on a plate, begin the second mix. Add 1/8 cup of water a 1/4 cup of glue into a bowl and mix thoroughly again until there is no more clear streaking, and add a few pinches of the the chunky gold glitter. This batch should not be as saturated as the first mix, you want to be able to see the clear slime just sprinkled with it.
  7. Add 1/4 cup of liquid starch and immediately begin mixing in rapid circles until it clumps together in the middle of the bowl, wrapped around itself
  8. Like with the first, Remove and squish back and forth in hands until it starts to form a more cohesive glob in your hands and begin to knead and stretch it until the excess moisture is gone, then allow it to sit for a few moments
  9. Lay out both batches in alternating strokes and let rest until they melt into each other
  10. Stretch and twist to blend into each other
  11. Enjoy your molten rose gold slime!
